BoA was actually a promising dancer before she was discovered. (In fact that’s kind of how she got discovered.) Her singing, though, is probably a product of years of her hard work and training.

my first ever introduction to kpop was through this song, alongside snsd's into the new world and super junior's bonamana. one day a music channel on my tv played this mv and let me tell you that it CHANGED my 10 years old self lmaoo its impact was so huge to the point that i could literally play this mv in my head hshshsh i remember drawing random characters with her jacket because i liked it so much :'D flash forward more than a decade later and im still here listening to her songs ;;;; i will always be grateful to her ngl

이때 레이블은 미국에 맡겨야 됐었는데.. 프로듀싱 레이블 모두 SM에서 하는 바람에. 푸쉬도 약했고 미국 데뷔한다는 소식에 기뻐한 미국 팬들은 어디 잡지나 유력 매체, 방송은 커녕 뭐 음반샵에 가도 CD 두장밖에 없고. 고생만 오지게하다가 돌아옴. 지금은 당시 실패로 레이블은 대형 회사와 계약을 하는데 저땐 미국 시장과 한국 시장은 다르다는걸 몰랐었던듯.

I guess I'll never understand why this song didn't make it big in the US. It's catchy, the beat is dope, the dance is awesome - what else do you expect? But I do get the sense that the marketing mix of the album tends to try too hard to please the US market. In any case, she's better off being the undisputed Queen of Asia.
