This is THE song that defines 'ahead of its time'. No one got it when it came out, people were confused and mad the biggest kpop girl group at the time would release a campy experimental track that broke the norms of pop music. Fast forward 10 years and numerous songs and even groups based on the idea of genre mashup later, nothing has recreated the impact of the song or topped the ingenuity of its production. GG are really mother for that!!

Blackpink by comparison is killing it rn, their album and single are doing really well. No one can be relevant forever. Girls Generation is legendary for putting Kpop's name out there, especially with Psy bringing South Korea attention with Gangnam Style, but even so the attention could've dissipated if GG didn't pop on the scene and solidify Kpop as a genuine movement. 2018 is Blackpink's year though.
