riku's a natural star, his stage presence is great, expressions and attitude on point, he's kinda got yg artists' aura and rapping skills. ryu's got a wonderful voice, he's incredible on stage considering he only trained for 2 weeks (?), these two make an amazing team, their performance was the most impressive, would love to see them both debut!

One thing I know, NCT last unit should include Riku in it. His vibes definitely suit NCT. And I don't know whats wrong with SM, but they lucky enough to find unique voice as Ryu. I hope in the next mission these two can show more of their charm. Because at this point, its really hard to choose who to support since all ten of them is talented.

Comes down to delivery and stage presence some times. When they're up against each other unless they work together as a unit and bounce off and support each other visually then one will dominate the stage and outshine the other it's that simple. Here you have the equivalent of say Taeyong and Ten doing 'Baby Don't Stop' where you have one rapping and the other vocals, however, during their performance they are equally matched in being dominant in delivery during moments of unity. This is what the judges would be looking for. They know each of them have talent, but they need to show the 'working' together to sell their performance and connect to the audience, working the cameras etc.

Technical wise he was a bit unpolished..understandable since he has short training time..when u see him performed with the other more trained vocalist like minjae, you will see that his delivery is less controlled and tend to be shaky and off pitch/note at times..but he's got great potential tho, love the timbre just wished they didnt rush this so much

@@superdol18 yep I agree with what you're saying. It's just inexperience. I think there is a lot of promise there. It just needs time to be nurtured and for confidence to grow, and for him to develop his own presence. Which admittedly can take time for even the most experienced idol.

YES! YESSSSS🔥 THIS THE STANDARD OF FIRST STAGE I EXPECTED FROM THE TRAINEES!! By just this one performance compared to the other 4, I say both Riku & Ryu can straightly occupy the 3rd & 4th place of NCT Japan. Riku, you surprised me! Surely MVP of this first stage mission. Ryu can improve more in controlling his expressions bcs at some moments when it's not his parts, he looked nervous. Other than that there's no other comment for this perf.. Now I'm expecting high for the dance skills of you two!

I am pretty sure Riku is locked in. But I really hope Ryu makes it in the end. His voice is unique plus I personally prefer his not so typical pretty boy looks. Rant incoming: To be completely honest, if you want this unit to be the Tokyo unit then you need majority Japanese members. The high ranked contestants at the moment are the Korean ones and the Japanese ones are lower (except Riku). You can't just leave all Japanese communication to Yushi. The group would end up like any other Kpop group that promotes in Japan. The group should ideally end up like WayV where all the members can speak the promoting countries language fluently with maybe one or two that need help (Like Ten with Mandarin). It's also better since they would likely already be aware of general culture when communicating. (Ex: manners, modern slang, events in Japan to relate with fans)
