Guys did you know Sherlock was one of the turning points of Kpop choreography..? In Korea, Sherlock choreo is known as a choreo that opened the door of 3rd gen choreo. We usually say shinee opened the door and exo growl initiated 3rd gen. If you knew kpop in 2nd era you will already know this well but before Sherlock and other 3rd gen songs were released, kpop choreo was not that dynamic, creative, hard, and also tired... It was the first choreo that members move from one edge to the other edge, the formation changing greatly and only one person dancing in each part, using shadows, and even two songs are combined in Sherlock. And more surprisingly, there are some other SHINee's songs that pioneered key elements of kpop. Really it is not an overstatement that SHINee is one of the best groups that made present kpop industry exist. +)Thanks for many likes and I corrected some words for leaving no misunderstanding. This is just the common thought in Korea. ++)I recommend Sherlock stage version than MV. Try if you did not yet!

Totally agree. Shinee were trailblazers, and, in their 13th year they still are. As a group or individually, the are simply unique. No one else comes close.

That a lot of groups before that did this and better, the difference Shinee it's under a company that promotes better that why you have the illusion they were the first and even in the same company other groups release choreography with the elements you describe, they were not the first but the one who may turn those elements more popular PS. iTsSo FlUfFy Its not that Big Bang doesn't have their own thing...but Shinee is the only group I know that dressed more feminine and sang more feminine songs than the other boy groups before them at the time of their debut 2008. While the other boy bands before 2008 presented themselves as hard core (Both Super Junior and BigBang), Shinee took a different approach in Ring Ding Dong, wearing furs and makeup. They broke traditional male style by wearing colorful clothing, make-up and Taemin often has worn long hair, even before BigBang experimented with it. Shinee is responsible for the ever popular "Shinee Style" in Korea, hence why so many Kpop boy bands are also experimenting with feminine looks. But Shinee was the first to do it. They also have really interesting tempos in their music and they popularized synchronization in the dance. (Watch their MV Sherlock). Shinee is highly talented as well. Jonhgyun is a really strong singer, Onew is a really soft singer, Minho is a great rapper, Key is the singer with the most unique voice, and Taemin is an excellent dancer. To add, Shinee also convey a lot of stage charisma when they perform. They express their personalities more openly than most Kpop boy bands do. (Hello Baby was when I fell in love with this group). Again, Big Bang is cool in their own way. I just happen to think Shinee is more unique than almost all the boy groups in Kpop history, as I examine their performances, their image, and listen to their music, as well as examine their personalities.

My boyfriend brought me into SHINee by showing me MV Sherlock in 2012. I suddenly got a crush on long-haired Taemin. Such a long time after MJ's passing, I haven't seen someone could be this cool, pretty, and his dancing be this fascinating. I was so shocked when realizing he was only 18 at that time. These years my boyfriend and I go toghether to one and another SHINee and Taemin's concerts. I believe in sharing our love for SHINee make us love each other more. Now he's my husband and we just attended Taemin's Sirius concert in Japan 4 weeks ago. :)

Its present even back then its just that it's more pronounced now because of intense fandom rivalry aided by social media. There's more criticisms now for reasons unknown to me. Maybe its because there's a lot of groups now compared back then. When there's different brands of goods present, we tend to compare them sooo maybe that's why.

Oh, so that's why I kept seeing 'Note' and 'Clue' when I was watching 'Sherlock' performance. This MV is my third time listening to this song after seeing the cover. So 'Note' and 'Clue' are their own songs, too? I think I'll have to check those songs out, too. Does Shinee have a storyline/universe? Lol, I'm clueless.

@@cloddiehoppers Well, in general SHINee do not have an actual Universe as in, for example Exo or Aespa. The general view of their comebacks goes more like in separated concepts. Each of their albums has an special vibe, story and musicalization. But, for example they had some years where they had multiple comebacks (e.g 2013: Misconception of Me, Misconception of U, Everybody) and there is still a connection between them, specially in Repackage albums. I would recommend to hear the separated tittle tracks, all of them are awesome and have something of their own ❤️. Pick the one that you like better and then, start to look up for the album it came from. Their awesome artists, I hope you like them 🥰😘💎 P.S: SHINee is back on 2021 💎💎💎💎💎 Please support them 🤗

The first SHINee song I listened to...this got me into kpop. They’re all so talented and it feels so empty now that Jonghyun is gone...his unique voice and passion will never be forgotten. It makes me grateful to live in the 21st century because we can come back here and watch him living to the fullest, enjoying life. He can still live on through the mv, tv shows, fancams. I’m grateful for that. Thank you jonghyun for everything. We love you💙
