So SM made an experiment with EXO, SuJu, and RV. With SuJu and EXO, SM wanted to know how the fans would react to a group having members with different nationalities and or units, and with RV they wanted to know how the fans would accept additional member/s like Yeri, and when they saw that it all went well, all these groups are successful, cherished my fans they then made NCT, and NCT is what SM wanted, changing members, universal members, unlimited members, unlimited units, and whatever. It's actually a very smart move considering that a lot of their groups went on hiatus or downfall whenever a member leaves (Sulli), like went to military (Suju), or just wanted out (Exo's chinese members), or being kicked out by other members(Jess), those things affected the group. So yeah SM planned it all a long time ago...
