I like how SM doesn’t usually put their trainees in surival shows, instead they promote them on their own and I think that’s a great thing since you don’t fully expose the idols to the public and therefore leaves something for us to wait on.

Because tbh in sm they are so many trainees that are all rounders and the training system is just so hard so it's a whole arena for survival for debut off cam already so they would not need them in a survival show on cam

SM itself is a survival show. SM has so many trainees that they could definitely host a survival show within themselves.

I know this is probably gonna upset some people but personally whenever I watch a survival show I forget about them by the time they debut. For example, I was really into produce 2 and produce 48, but I couldn't keep up with them during their debut because it feels like I've seen more than enough about them that it just.. I don't know, I think it's because there isn't much to see other than their improvement but even that I can watch a compilation later on. I've seen too much of these idols, I've seen their struggles and it feels like it's more than enough already, I could be watching other rookies that I have yet to learn something from/about. With SM however we only get to see the trainees after they've proven themselves more than enough and there's already some sort of plan for them (even though it could take a while between their introduction as a rookie and their actual debut) and we don't get bombarded with their past or seeing their struggles until much later when the artists themselves share those stories like anecdotes and it doesn't feel as invasive. There's always something new we can learn from/about an SM artist because we don't know that much of them before they get to their proper debut, if anything we have pictures but there's no context to them. I know we joke a lot about the basement and the trainees that are kept there, but all in all I'm glad they do that. Not many idols get to see their debut stages where their only regret is the styling.

This is how you promote rookies pre debut properly, by spending money on them, not by putting them in survival show and making money of them, and then leaving the defeated one to go back to society suicidal. ( not directed to YG, directed to all companies doing survival shows)

@@eternityyoungk9428 He usted to be a sm trainee but didn't debut in nct. He debuted in a group called Newkidd and after in a disbanded group called UNB. Rn he is doing social services instead of the military service.

Kawii Lana lmao... I thought so too and i had to look up their ages.. they are actually not that young. Hansol is the oldest(1994) and I think Jaehyun is the youngest(the only 1997), the rest are in between.

Of the many reasons he's an amazing leader, one of the most noticeable is this, it doesn't matter that everyone else is amazing in this clip, you cannot take your eyes away from Taeyong. Even if he is dancing in the background your eyes find him. He has so much charisma that you cannot help but be drawn to it. That he's caring and hard working and a clean freak and total dork...that's just extra haha

Showcasing one member over others is essential for groups to be successful in exposure. Anyone remember how much Exposure Kai, Yoona, Sulli, G Dragon, CL, Mino, B.I, L, Tablo etc got? A lot. It's a very common and the smartest way to market groups especially newer ones. ALL companies are guilty of this. No one will remember the whole group right off the bat so they take steps. In EVERY very successful group there is at least one person that the company markets the most.
