For those who don’t know SuperM is a Korean-American group because they are under both an Korean and American label: SM Ent. and Capitol Records. Capitol which is based in Los Angels wanted to creat a super k-pop group with the biggest Korean Label and they wanted members that could fit the American Style. So the owner of SM Entertainment Mr. Lee Sooman chose Taemin Kai and Baekhyung (because they are great DUH and because both exo and shinee were innative due to military duty) plus Taeyong Ten Lucas and Mark. That’s why they call them the avengers because in Lee Soman's eyes they were the best choice of off their main groups for this concept. That’s why their songs have so much English and that’s why they debuted in Los Angels and not in Korea which made the fans very mad because they are targeted for a more western audience which is true it’s literally their concept.
