But of course we're really talking about the FEMALE Taemin (the "stage name" for Yoo Jimin), who can be seen in this video from 1:14 to 1:20 and from 2:03 to 2:31. She has yet to make her debut but hopefully she'll be in SM's new girl group for 2020. (One person described her singing as "awesome" and she certainly can dance. She's even nice looking and about as tall as Yoona from Girls' Generation, a fairly successful girl group from SM.)

Oops. Taemin is that GUY. Jimin may not have a "stage name" yet but is "rumored" to be a possible girl group member soon with SM. Since SM is so secretive, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

The reason I am utterly obsessed with Want, even more than I was with Move, is because in Move he was the most precise and polished dancer on stage, every movement was so deliberate and perfectly placed and the backup dancers were trying to keep up. But in Want, he's lazy. The backup dancers' movements are more exaggerated, sharper, more traditionally perfect kpop dancing, whereas Taemin's movements are muted, like he's just marking the choreography, he can't even be bothered doing it properly. It looks lazy and arrogant and effortless and it is utterly, utterly brilliant.

You put into words perfectly what I've been feeling from Want! I've described it as "relaxed" but that doesn't capture the other part of why I like it, and it's because that's the concept, he doesn't NEED to be passionate and perfect and always doing complicated moves because he'll seduce everyone anyway. The "lack" of effort is the most intentional part of Want and what Taemin's trying to do, and I hope it doesn't get seen as an actual lack of talent. He's so good he can move muted, and is still mesmerizing, and he knows it. I'm really proud of him for doing this, he's put in so much work over so many years he deserves to be "arrogant" with his dancing lol

Honestly Taemin, Ten (nct) along with Kai (Exo) and Shotaro (riize) are some of the most unique dancers I've ever seen. Not even based on skill or technique alone but like they move to music differently.

it always looks like he puts almost no effort in dancing, but his choreos are the most complex and he actually has to control his WHOLE body, every muscle and also every emotion, so the performance looks harmonious and neat

@Seulgi's lip bite I completely agree with you. I'm only now seeing this dance practice so I know this is not how he dance this in live performances. Although, his laid back, relaxed, and almost lazy way of dancing here has its own charm. Taemin still managed to grab my attention, still can't look away while he dances.

@@peachyblossoms.7799 Lol I've been a Kpop stan since 2010 and Shinee was my first Kpop group ever. Taemin was my first bias ever. So he is special for me. I saw many groups making their debuts and being disbanded in those 9 years and I'm also not one of those so called fans who just forget their faves after finding a new group. I have my most favourites but I like Kpop in general. So what is the problem?

vashtify yeah, i guess it’s because this song makes it sound like a song which would describe how someone would act while they’re drunk. They’re drunk, but they’re honest and let their emotions out most in that moment. I think that’s why Taemin danced like that, it depicts the song more accurately, but you can still tell that he can feel the groove. It’s honestly amazing and genius

What I love about Taemin is that he is so unique. Let alone in Kpop, but also in the world there is no one like him when it comes to music, DANCING, and performing. He really stands out among other idols and has made a brand that is truly just Taemin. Lets enjoy his work because it will never be replicated.

The chances of Yoo Jimin being in SM's new girl group for 2020 are greatly enhanced by the departure Lami and Koeun from SM to pursue individual careers and the current emphasis of Park Jungyeon on getting more training in acting. Since SM is so secretive, we'll just have to wait and see. (Helen is also in the running for the new girl group from SM.)

Helen was born Lee Hye Jin in South Korea in 2003 and raised from the age of 4 in Brisbane, Australia (NOT a suburb of Seoul). She has recently returned to South Korea and is apparently being groomed by SM for one of their new girl groups. being world famous is not everything. taemin is well known in big parts of the world. if he was too famous he wouldn't have time to work on his skills and develop as much as he can now.

I love how clever and subtle the choreo is, you get small soft movements that lull into a sense of calmness, and then they hit you with a pop crackle. I love it.

Absolutely effortless! He just has this grace and ease about him that just makes him one of the best dancers of this generation! So proud! It feels weird saying that considering he is like 10 years older than me but I cant help but feel happy with how much he has accomplished!
