I have watched this MV countless, and I mean, countless amount of times. Every time I feel something different, so, maybe the reason why I watch it so many times is that I don't fully understand it. Or rather, to fully understand it would mean I would need to fully understand myself...

This song is emotionally illustrating a toxic and abusive relationship. Her lover, played by the actor by the name of Hong Kyung, is manipulative and abusive towards Taeyeon. Though seen through their relationship that she is clearly hurting, they "act" like nothing is happening (literally act as star characters in a play of some sort) so the world doesn't know what is truly happening behind their relationship. Taeyeon simply "can't help herself" and is stuck in love despite all of the pain she has gone through. The ending shows her final breakdown, as herself and not as her acting role, but alas her lover made it look like it was apart of the act and their relationship shall never be known to the world.
