Some of you might not know, Korea went through a huge economical crisis back then in around 2008 to 2009, leading the nation’s economic drop.And that was the time when Gee was released and became super popular. If I remember correctly, the song Gee actually contributed around 12%of the economic growth. Their songs Way to Go and also HaHaHa Song were released to raise hopes for the Korean back in those days. That’s why they especially filmed MVs for these two songs. They even had a variety show called Cheer Up! You can try to search it. They did a lot of stage performances for Way to Go as well, and many Korean, even some of them don’t stan snsd, know this song very well. Until now, many Korean people have said that this song has helped them been through a lot. It is a little nation cheer up song among Korea. In other words, snsd actually contributed quite a lot for Korea’s economy. This is also one of the biggest reasons why they are voted to be the Nation’s Girl Group. And once Leetuk and Eunhyuk stated that SNSD couldn’t hurt themselves without permission. Their body is not their own. They are the treasures of the nation.

In kpop girlgroup, most people say snsd no 1. but snsd don't create new trend, just follow new trend. in my option, snsd's first song 'into the new world' is traditional sm music, like 'ses', 'boa', 'csjh'. sm's girl group 'csjh' was big fail in 2006-2007. because of jyp's new girl group 'wonder girls' appeared in 2007. wonder girls create kpop's first new trend by hook-song and very easy dance, 'tell me', 'so hot', 'nobody' song. so old trend sm's csjh failed and sm's new girl group snsd followed new trend. 'gee', 'oh' this song was success. next yg's new girl group '2ne1' appeared in 2009. 2ne1 create kpop's second new trend by hook-song and hippop and very powerful dance and girlcrush, 'fire' song. and then snsd music was changed power dance and girlcrush, 'run devil run', 'the boys'.
