Making a song inspired by midsommar really fits Red Velvet. I mean Red Velvet‘s two most used concepts are literally horror and summer… So they combined these two elements and made a colourful summer song with a creepy backstory. 🌷🧝🏻‍♀️🖤 The music video is so well made! All of the sets where they filmed are absolutely beautiful and the dresses they wore in the mv are looking beyond gorgeous. There are so many colours and flowers in the music video! It’s giving fairy vibes! 💐 The song sounds awesome as well. I’m obsessed with every part of it. Red Velvet never dissapoints!

They should leave SM though. They'll probably struggle with the budget but I'd like to think that the composers that have continually proposed songs to them will still consider them (I hope) and the concept was Joy's brainchild anyway So with a few problems here and there I'd like to think they can still work it out (naively probably) Or at least leave SM as solo acts and try to negotiate being able to release as a group still (like bp)

It's a bit unlucky that older groups don't get as much lead time on their promotions by their companies. They just rely on the dedicated fan base to carry the song. Even Joy called SM out for the lack of promos this time. But only only can win the music shows and it's mostly the younger crew that vote for the newer gen groups. Just the way it goes with every new generation. Cosmic was just picked as 7th by Billboard and 5th by NME for best kpop songs of 2024, so thats pretty awesome, cause there was a ton of great music this year!

I agree, but its because of SM’s lack of promotions for Red Velvet because of aespa. Not only that but the interests of fans has changed, as much as Red Velvet’s a group that most fans has listened to, they lean onto groups like NewJeans, aespa, IVE and LE SSERAFIM. Which is why older groups dont get to shine like they’ve used to which is very unfortunate.
