@@solnishka0 I mean that the “S.E.S Dreams Come True” is not the original, the original is a Finnish song that is rarely credited (crediting the song is technically not required since S.E.S bought the rights to the song but still). The Finnish songs name is “rakastuin mä looseriin” by Nylon Beats

Both the instrumental and the vocals are better in this version, but I like the two added verses (the intro and the second verse) in aespa's version and the rap part is also definitely better there. I honestly love both and listen to both all the time, this one for the feels, aespa's for aespa

@ LISA solo will outsold Twice OP isn't saying that SM invented science fiction, galaxy concepts or virtual reality... she is saying that aespa didn't copy K/DA (they were accused of that since debut) but Aespa and their concept is part of SM umiverse, just as every other SM group also have their concept and belong to the SM Universe and this has been planned out (not the world's first inventors of stuff) since the origin of the company, e.g. watch S.E.S. (first SM girlgroup) MV.

Theory/Short story: S.E.S is a trio of goddesses who create KWANGYA, but alongside the creation, a dark creature named Black Mamba emerges, so S.E.S sacrifice themselves to imprison Black Mamba in the darkest depths of KWANGYA...Until it emerges again millions of years later with revenge to ruin KWANGYA. One day, the angels of S.E.S visit four girls in their dreams and choose them as the chosen ones to battle Black Mamba. The four girls are AESPA.

98년 11월 22일이었나 싶음. 102보충대 입교 하루 전날 춘천에서 하룻밤 잤음. 집이 지방이라 당일날 올라가는건 무리라서 여관방을 잡고 혼자 있었는데 티비에서 s.e.s 컴백무대를 하더라. imf로 가족은 거의 해체 수준이었고 혼자 입대한것도 돈이 부족하니까 혼자 입대했는데 이 무렵 입대하던 상당수 남자들은 비슷한 상황이었음. 팬이었던 s.e.s가 그래도 입대 전 컴백무대를 해주니 선물 같았고 너무 감사했네요. 1월에 자대 배치받고 첫 아침을 맞이하는데 익숙한 목소리가 나왔고 s.e.s의 2집 너를 사랑해였음. 아뭏든 s.e.s는 군생활 2년2개월동안 큰 힘이 됐었어요.

Listening to this version and the aespa version I noticed that current Kpop songs can't be really ethereal and mysterious, they have to be "try hard" all the time. In this version, you feel that the song is a little empty, because the beat go without the vocals, but in the Aespa version, the beat is never alone, because it's always have someone singing along...and this breaks the mystery and ethereal feeling of the song.

I agree! I love complex songs (like NCT) and aespa’s music but sometimes simple songs are amazing too! As long as it doesn’t feel repetitive. I love the misty vibe of this song and the motif that repeats through the song is so addicting.

Just wanted to add I really wish we could get some new ethereal sounding songs with less hip hop elements in kpop. I totally understand that BoA wanted a song that fits the newer trends but I think that would be so refreshing.

True. I feel like kpop is trying hard to catch new sounds that we'll like, and add more beats to be innovative but they forget the magic of simplicity I'm not against k-pop experimenting but sometimes the empty beats with a pitch of mystery sound fantastic!

Even from the 1st gen of idols, SM had already pursuing the futuristic/alien concepts. They're always ahead of their time with concepts. And I LOVE this song by S.E.S. I used to listen to it a lot. It's so nostalgic. :D
