｢まるで地球儀を回すように奇跡さえ手順通り｣一番好きな歌詞です。初めて聞いた時はゾッとするくらい感動したことを覚えています。この歌詞を始め日本語版GENIEは日本語楽曲のなかでも特に完成度が高いです。少女時代の楽曲にはちゃんと日本語の曲として聴ける曲が多いのがいいですね。

I was originally here, because I loved Genie. Probably STILL my favorite song by SNSD. I just love the dance, and feel of the song. That being said, I much preferred the Korean white military style to this one, but still, I checked this out, because of that, and just found the little dork to be cute... The Japanese version is my favorite. The song lyrics are, imo, more intimate and uplifting (even though they still are relatively the same subject matter). I even painted the first line of the chorus on my room wall because I loved it so much. Idk why I gravitated toward it so much but I just did. Love this song and I'm glad they have been so successful. I love their Korean language music, obviously, but their Japanese stuff has a special place in my heart.

少女時代の曲やパフォーマンス等全て含めて間違いなく一番の作品だと思います。ダンスは個性的、色気、可愛らしさの黄金比が揃っており、日本語verの歌詞は不思議さと中毒性があり、男女関係なく見入ってしまう。まさしくgenieの名に相応しい、あらゆる意味で魔力を秘めた作品。人間の可能性の凄さ、美しさを感じられます。

Vuong Anh Nguyen Okay, totally came on here for some old(ish) SNSD reminiscing, but instead it turned into this....so this is wayyyyyy too long, but it needs to be said. First of all, just to reinforce...what chickenmilk722 said was a joke. A joke which had well meaning behind it, so as a third party I'm sad you took it the wrong way. But you cannot - and I say this from a factual point of view as someone who has worked in PR, has contacts within the (often cringe-worthy) K-Pop industry, as well as personally produced music/artists, and understands how an entertainment conglomerate like SM is built - deny that EXO's fame was built off of SNSD's and their previous seniors in SM (and indirectly the rest of the K-Pop industry as well). SNSD's in turn was built in part by DBSK etc,, and DBSK's by their own seniors from the company, and so on and so forth. SM's fame was based on Lee Soo Man's pre-existing connections in the entertainment industry, and the other heavy-lifters in the music industry who drag the weight and influence in the industry. It keeps going up, but it's obviously easy to see so I won't go on. What I'm trying to say is that yes, these idols worked hard for where they are now, regardless of whether they are SNSD or EXO or SHINee or BIGBANG or whatever other group you want to name. These groups have made it because they have put in their sweat and blood and sacrificed so many things to get to where they are now, and for that I will always be in awe of them. It takes superhuman persistence and faith in order to get that far. But you can't make it in life with just sweat and blood and tears - I hate to break it to you, but it's about connections too and helping hands. As much as I may dislike SM from time to time for my own reasons, there would be no SNSD or EXO without SM. And in the same way, this is why it irks me when fans such as, to put it bluntly, yourself, say misconstrued and frankly offensive things like "Exo's fame has nothing to do with snsd...What can they do to help Chanyeol. NOTHING." Because in all truthfulness, SNSD has been a crucial part of EXO's success. There are reasons why Chanyeol was put into this video, Kai/Baekhyun/Chanyeol/Sehun in Twinkle, and Jessica in SuJu's SuperGirl. So many other examples but I'll stop there. It's for exposure through an already established group. Simple marketing strategy. Maybe this sounds dramatic, but even as someone who does not particularly care for SM Entertainment as a label, I have to say that there would be no H.O.T without SM, no DBSK without H.O.T, no SuJu without DBSK, no SNSD without SuJu, and to skip a bit ahead, no EXO without all of these previous existing, established groups of SM. And to put it even more bluntly, EXO had it a lot easier than the older groups. The groups who rode the golden Hallyu wave 2000-2010 and on - BIGBANG, DBSK, SuJu, SNSD, 2NE1, 2PM - they were the ones who rebuilt the industry when it was at a standstill after older groups. They're still the big players. They worked to establish themselves when there was no name left, and that is why K-Pop has gotten so huge now. Before SNSD, there wasn't a single girl group who could be seriously considered to last except maybe Wonder Girls, but then JYP decided to relocate them off the face of the earth and debut in America and it all went downhill from there but I'm getting off topic. Maybe I'm wrong, it's been a while since I brushed up on those details - but SNSD is the longest lasting female group, still popular and number one since Gee - and that I can say for sure. These new groups won't reach the same golden high the older groups did, simply because they don't have the circumstances. Everything is a matter of timing, connections, and hard work. And all three of those factors were in place for SNSD, BIGBANG, DBSK, SuJu, etc. They got to the apex because they had to work twice as hard for it, and because they had the resources and environment. ...I've officially turned this into an essay, and I'm kind of sorry that I unloaded this on you in particular, but it really needed to be said. I don't mean to sound elitist or arrogant or old-fashioned, but new fans nowadays - especially some of the crazier of EXO 'fans' - don't understand the respect and gratefulness they should show towards EXO's senior groups. Not lumping you into the crazy group, but just saying. EXO shows that respect, why can't their fans? I'm sure EXO is thankful for everything their seniors indirectly did for them. TL;DR: SNSD isn't irrelevant to EXO in the way SM isn't irrelevant to EXO or SNSD. EXO's seniors in the industry made it easier for them to succeed. Yes, they worked hard. Everyone worked hard to make it in this industry. It's a tough industry; it breaks you. But EXO fans shouldn't be disrespectful and get too full of themselves and say things like "EXO doesn't need SNSD", etc. Anyway, if anyone's still reading...I'm terribly apologetic for spamming you and taking up your time. Jesus, I honestly didn't know I had this all in me stewing, waiting to come out. At the end of the day...this is still just one somewhat-insider's observations.
