***** Which one is that, the lass I personally think is prettiest is the one in the crimson jumper at the start of the video, she's by herself at 51 seconds.
I always like the Japanese versions of their music videos( not the song though) better for some reason. it just seems like the Girls are prettier or something idk. I mean, they all look freaking adorable in this. Sooyoung's wink at 1:50 just killed me.

I believe that the makeup/costume departments act differently between the Korean and Japanese releases on purpose in order to appeal to different cultures. I'm not saying I have any idea what traits are considered more attractive according to which country because I clearly have not done any research into the topic but if you compare the scenery, costume, hair, and makeup of the two, the Korean version seems to have gone for more of a "cute" style with light blues and pinks in the background and clothing, a background that looks pretty much like a toy room, facial expressions that seem to resemble a pout, a bit of blush in the makeup, and a lot of curls in the hair. The Japanese version goes for a much paler and even complexion (probably what you subconsciously find prettier), deep and darker reds/blues in the scenery and dress, adult style furniture in the setting, winks and smirks, and straightened hair styles. Both tastes are sought after, but Japan seems to in general be attracted to the more mature side, while Korea seems to be attracted to younger/cute styles. Though this is of course just what I pull from it. I like this kind of stuff, sorry for being so long winded xD

But their Japanese songs are better than their Korean ones by far too. Animal, Reflection, TOP, and The Great Escape top almost all of their Korean releases. Probably because they know they have hardcore fans in Korea (after all they are the 'Nation's Girl Group') and SM felt the need to make their Japanese releases a bit more high-quality when it comes to music (basically not just realeasing some random singles like they do in Korea because they know their Korean fanbase will buy it anyway).

The Pomf Parade Haha yea I do find that "paler and even complexion" prettier. And the straightened hair styles as well. Wasn't a big fan of the curly hair in the Korean version. A nice bit of observation you did there. ^^ aiken relkins No I meant that I like the Korean versions of their songs better than the Japanese versions of their songs. Not their Korean music better than their Japanese music. I am actually quite fond of their Japanese albums. Animal and Reflection, as you named, are some of my favorite of the Japanese stuff. Among many others. But to say that their Japanese stuff is better than their Korean "by far" is pointless to say seeing how its all opinion.

These songs became really popular in japan so they made a new mvs along with the translations, and snsd have improved in both style and maturity so ofc they look better ^_^. Into the new world is still the best song for me thow..
Hyoyeon has always been my favorite. She looks so good here

Don't you guys also feel like SNSD's Japanese MV's seem more *hotter and cuter* than their Korean MV's?
@TheAbruptdeath11 жыл бұрын
It's a cultural difference thing. For the Korean vids they attempt to get a cuter/younger look for the girls, where as in Japan they try to make the girls look a bit more mature. I believe because of different cultural preference.

The Pomf Parade They want to make the girls look "more mature" to fit a certain niche. If they did their normal cute schtick they would blend in to much. They want to capitalize on being "foreign" and "different" while still maintaining their aegyo. They've become akogare figures for many young women in Japan , being the first idol group exposed there to have "mature" women that can pull off being cute, sexy, and cool at the same time while being fashionable and having great dancing/vocal talent. That's their appeal.

Are you that person who keeps commenting on all Girls Generation saying K-POP girls are sluts and the guys are gay?
