Since Zhang Li-yin is a veteran singer (she debuted in 2006), I think that she is able to fit with Chen's usually very strong voice nicely. This is my favorite version of 'Breath' -- and it's pretty much because of Zhang Li-yin. She's such a nice vocalist and able to do stunning duets with a rookie like Chen. Either way, SM The Ballad, fighting!

Yes. This is the best version. SM The Ballad is not the matter of who owns the most beautiful voice, but who can sing the song with passion and deep feeling. At first, I thought there must be something wrong with this song, why Taeyeon (who is one of my fav vocalist in SM) cannot even sing the song deeply .. and then I was like ... 'okay... it's a boring song'. However .....these two blends very well, their voices got a serious chemistry and ... this is the only version which make me wanna cry :'D I almost cannot believe,.. Li Yin and Chen have a very good interpretation about the songs, they put the right emotion.

Chen's part are full of longing ,regret, pain, passion .I love how female part is intepret by Zhang Yi Lin she sometimes very softly sings specially phrases regarding caringness for her lover even after break up ,someparts very powerful the regret,longing . The lyrics are different in male female solo parts that emotional delivery is outstanding .

I want to cry when I hear this song

A lot of people asks me [especially those who are older than me] why I listen to kpop [particularly and ALWAYS, EXO songs] even though I don't understand the the lyrics at all. I would just shrug it off because I am not really good in verbal stuffs especially on things where I have to defend myself. But really, I don't have to understand the lyrics to know a good song. This is far better than songs with language I could understand. When I first listen to this song, I SWEAR, I was tearing up and I felt really sad. Perhaps it has something to do with how the singers sang it. This is also what happened when I listened to EXO's Miracles in December and Baby Don't Cry. There's soul, passion, heart and emotion. This is SM. :) Fighting!

This song is truly beautiful. Listening to Chen's and Zhang Li Yin's voices singing this song just gives me goosebumps! In a good way! I can sense all the heart and emotion they put into singing this song. Well done!

I love all versions but this is my favorite! Their vocals are powerful and so emotional. It was perfect the way they harmonized together. Chen looks more mature and handsome while Zhang Li Yin looks graceful and elegant.

I just wish how it would be if SM gave english subtitles for older songs too. We can understand the song with their emotional delivery very much but this song is lyrically very amazing .

You really have to appreciate Chen for how good hes getting with his Chinese. Its one of the hardest if not, the hardest language to learn. I'm a full Chinese, but I was born in America, and it really is a hard language. Each character has 4 different meanings to them depending on how you pronounce it. I think we should just appreciate how far Chen has gotten.

In my opinion the Chinese version is the best out of the three versions. The voices match harmoniously. Knew Zhang Liyin was under SM but never heard her sing before, WOW, she can sing. well all the 3 versions are good. i listen to Kor.ver at 1st bcoz i like taeyeon but i thought her voice not quite blend well with Jonghyun voice. if i have to rank out of the 3 ver, i choose Chin.ver the most.

I always think it is best version of Breath even though Kor. ver. is also very good. Because Chen brought to me a warm and sad feeling whenever I listen this song. Jonghyun and Changmin both have perfect vocal but it's too high to listen.
