I notice that Taeyeon always closes her eyes when she sings ballad. She has her way, her own style as a singer. The magical thing I feel after hearing this is although Taeyeon didn't even look at Jonghyun for once while Jonghyun was always looking at her during the performance, I still can feel the song. I just can feel it. I don't know how to express this, just, they sang with their own heart, they gave their feeling into the song so maybe the performance was a bit weird (because there wasn't no eyes-contact between them), but I still can feel it. And one more thing, Jonghyun doesn't "struggle with" the song like someone said LOL :)) That's his style, always move his. Watch SHINee's performances or Weekly Idol then you will understand why. At first i thought that their voices didnt really match but after listening to it everyday I LOVE THEIR VOICES TOGETHER NOW! and i think jonghyuns voice is amazing in ballads and no one could substitute him. Both of them tried their best and have amazing voices

taeyeon was trying to concentrate on singing all the correct notes for this particular song, that's why she sang it note perfect. It sometimes help to sing with your eyes close because it allows you to focus on the song more rather than everything that's around you. and for the earpiece, there was definitely something wrong with it, whether it was too loud or too quite for her to hear herself through it.

Every singer is entitled to her own unique style. One would be a fool if one looks at the singer with narrow eyes just because the singer does not fulfill the desires that person has for the singer. Taeyeon, for example, sings with her eyes closed because she wants to feel at one with her song and because she wants to connect with the song. Think of it as mediating and being at peace with the song. It just goes to show much how she enjoys singing and how much emotions she put into the song. If you see her as being "dead" and "expressionless", then all I can say is how shallow you can be because you only look at the surface and fail to look beneath.

though i only understand the korean version, but i prefer the chines ver. not because who sang it or their voice, but chen and zhang li yin sing with emotion and i can feel it.

I always prefer Korean version over other versions but idk what's up with this performance :/ I think taeyeon's earpiece really did affect it however I also felt like they were only singing it for the sake of it rather than being immersed into the emotions and all (well except jonghyun did put more effort)

I guess people are having a big fuss here about Taeyeon not giving jonghyun a single glance. Well frankly speaking, it's part of the concept were the boy is chasing the girl while the girl is having two thoughts about ditching him or giving him a second chance and the boy represents Jonghyun while the girl represents Taeyeon since this is a break up song. So it's part of their concept.

Whenever Taeyeon sings a ballad song, she USUALLY closes her eyes. You guys can check her other performance "Set me free", she closes her eyes all the performance. That's just how she puts her emotion into each song she sings.

Jonghyun was really good here!! I just wished that Taeyeon looked at Jonghyun. He was looking at her for almost the whole song and yet she had her eyes closed. Maybe she just likes to immerse herself into the song, or she's just tired. I'm thinking SNSD has to have more practices these days for their comeback, so she can be a bit tired. Or her ear piece has a problem, she's just trying to sing without going off. All in all, superb vocals from them

This is a much better performance than the first live one, and Jonghyun's voice sounds a lot better. It sounded like he had a cold in the first live performance. I don't see their emotions here, there were vocals, I just didn't see the pain in their eyes that the song depicts. Also, to those who say that they're not looking each other in the eyes, this song is about breaking up lol. Nevertheless, this one sounds exactly like the studio version and their voices sound like smooth butter together.
