Instead of shaming the newer Kpop fans, I'm going to educate. Welcome to BoA. This woman has been doing this professionally since she was 13. BoA is 30, she will be 31 in November. She was discovered when she followed a friend to an SM Ent. audition at the age of 10/11. Her debut song is ID; Peace B and some many Korean classics that she is known for are: No.1, Atlantis Princess, My Name, Spark, Girls on Top, Moto, Garden in the Air, Hurricane Venus, Copy & Paste, Implode, Only One, The Shadow, and Shattered, among many others. Also, BoA debuted in Japan at the age of 14. Korea and Japan weren't in the best of relations (still isn't the greatest, but improving), however a Korean singer coming to Japan to be a huge hit in their language was so ambitious of SM and Avex. She later went onto become the first non-Japanese Asian singer to hit number one on Japanese charts, it was a big deal. Some fabulous Japanese songs are (yes, she released some Korean songs in Japan, but she had some just-Japanese songs): Listen to my Heart, Every Heart, Kimochi wa Tsutawaru, Valenti, Miracle, Moon&Sunrise, Love and Honesty, Be the One, The Love Bug, Shine we Are, Do the Motion, Everlasting, Make a Secret, Winter Love, Brand New Beat, Love Letter, Eien, and Meri Kuri along with many many more. She has released 16 albums total, 8 in Korea and 8 Japan. She has tried many styles, and you're bound to find a favorite if you just try. She's funny, cute, hard working, and talented. can you imagine? She's been on this road all alone since 13 yo. She's now like 30 yo or so. Plus, imagine coming to Japan alone, succeeded, and pretty much set the hallyu trend in Japan. She and DBSK (TVXQ) did but BoA is all alone. She deserves to be recognized worldwide!

이런 저런 시도를 해보는 것은 좋지만, 근래 나온 노래들보다 이 곡, 이 뮤비가 좋은 건 절제함에서 오는 것 같다. 과하지 않고 딱 보아스러운. 보아의 조용한 카리스마라고 해야하나.. 아무튼 그 점이 잘 살아있어서 정말 좋아하는 곡임. 심지어 뮤비 속 의상(밀리터리아우터에 트레이닝복)이 지금까지 봤던 보아의상 중에 진짜 제일 멋지다. 진짜 카모 만큼 보아 느낌 살고 잘 어울리고 멋있는 게 요즘 너무 없어 아쉬워...

Some people say "BoA? Who?" They think it's something to be proud of, but they don't know that BoA is the real queen of Kpop. I know there's more like S.E.S and FinkL but still, BoA was the one who paved the way for Kpop to enter Japan which was believed to be impossible then. She brought Kpop to western countries. She made Kpop known and irresistible. She did so much for Kpop and still does. Talent? Beauty? Goodness? She's a combination of everything. BoA is another word for greatness and perfection. Don't make fools out of yourselves by saying that BoA is "expired" because LEGENDS do not expire. And yeah, one thing people like BoA made a world called Kpop with their utmost dedication and compassion where the idols you adore can comfortably stand in. Whether it's a girl group or boy group. So be grateful. If it wasn't for the "old" artists, your idols would have been nothing. Respect the REAL legends. If you cannot see any good in them and be respective, keep quiet and say nothing. This goes for everyone. If you don't like some artist, it's okay. You have the right to like them or do otherwise. But you are NOT given the right to bash ANYONE. To the new people here who don't know about BoA. BoA was only 12-13 when she debuted in 2000, making her the youngest soloist to debut in Korea of what I know. Prior her debut, had she been at a sm audition to support her older brother who was auditioning and got discovered there, where after she trained 2 years learning 3 other languages: English, Japanese and Chinese. Around 2007 was she debuting in the U.S with the song I eat you up, and tho it was a flop had she opened a way for other Korean singers, idols and actors. Since then has she released many albums in japan making her well like among the Japanese citizens and a album in Chinese. She has acted in international movies and was the mc of produce 101 s. 2 and been a judge for the first 2-3 seasons of kpop stars. She is also the one who has earned most money into SM's pocket so they could debut DB5K, Suju, Soshi, SHINee, F(X), EXO, Redvelvet and nct, even the entertainments flopping groups.. Many veteran fans and a lot of idols looks up to her because she has been in the industry for 17 years and still are going strong, being nicknamed the goddess of kpop

Definitely the queen, no, goddess of Kpop. The amount of talent that she has: the visuals, the voice, the dance skills puts her on the top. The fact that she can sing so effortlessly and smooth even with the complex choreo in her live performances is crazy. I agree there are some amazing singers out there but many of them can't dance like her and execute such clear singing at the same time. She paved the way for the idols we love today. She is a legend.

She is one of the greatest female soloist of first generation, But her greatness is definitely still hard to compare with others singer from 3rd even 2nd generation. Hyolyn, IU, Ailee or even Taeyeon are could be another example of the "greatest" korean singers, greatest is not about how high the note they can reach or just about singing skills or stage performance Its more than those stuff. But BoA is still on top of the list.

Everytime I watch BoA perform live or in a MV, I am always amazed at the pure stage presence she has in front of a camera. I mean 22 years of being in this industry shows it. I don't think I've seen anyone work as hard as she does. Of course, I say that about all SM artists, but BoA in particular set the standard for SM Entertainment and it became what it is today. You can't deny the starpower and influence she has had throughout her career, and she's still in her prime I'd say.
