이 뮤비 대해서 모르는사람많네 댄싱퀸 이곡이 외국의 멀씨라는곡 미리 선 리메이크해놓고 뮤비촬영까지 다 마쳤는데 원곡자가 리메이크 승인 거절해서 2008년에 낼려다가 엎어진곡이였음 그러다가 2013년에 리메이크 허용해줘서 5년만에 공개한거임 그래서 뮤비속 멤버들은 2008년때 모습임 그리고 이 댄싱퀸 활동 엎어져서 급하게 새뮤비찍고 나온게 대 히트곡 Gee임 그래서 이 뮤비속 의상이랑 컨셉이 Gee랑 비슷하게 느껴지는 이유임 어찌생각해보면 리메이크 거절되는 덕(?)에 소녀시대가 Gee로 국민걸그룹 대열에 올라서 오히려 sm이 감사해할수도ㅋㅋㅋ

Fact: this was filmed back in 2008 and this should be on their album as their title track but this was actually a remake from Duffy's Mercy and due to copyright claims, they kept this video for years until 2012 and promote Gee instead

Listening to Duffy's Mercy and SNSD Dancing Queen synchronised sounds great. It works really well. The backing track is more-or-less identical; the lyrics are obviously different.

I miss the era when kpop songs actually retains the "Korean pop" aura on their song/aesthetic. Unlike now where everyone was too busy to implement cute/girl crush/whatever concept they forget to make their songs unique and are more and more similar to other western pop music.

But also, Kpop has become a lot bigger in scale compared to pre-2010, early 2010's.. as you probably already know and it's way more of a global product now than it was back then In an even more globalized world Korea itself has become more Westernized as a society anyway - and today's Kpop is only a reflection of that And it's not that it lost its ethnic identity per se but it's just adapting to an ever-so rapidly changing world..

Pretty sure kpop wouldn't even have made it this big if it wasn't for SNSD. Of course, SNSD wasn't the only group that boosted the Hallyu Wave, it's just that their part in it was so big I doubt kpop would be the same now without them.. kpop could've even turned out to be a completely different thing as we know it. Like IGAB made such a strong impact in the music part of kpop because it was so experimental and it encouraged companies to try and expand their style in music.

I will forever miss this era. I was a mulfan (i really love snsd, super junior, cn blue, 4 minute, kara, t-ara, ft island, u-kiss, etc) and I was really enjoying every single song from every artist without getting hate. Now, it's hard to enjoy other idol song without getting judge and hate from your fandom (immature fans).. 1st and 2nd generation was such a peacefully era for me as long as I've been kpopers. Sorry for my bad English.. ^^

이거 처음 만들어졌을 때가 진짜 소녀시대 암흑기였는데... 원더걸스는 고사하고 쥬얼리, 브라운 아이드 걸스까지 치고 올라가지, 다른 멤버들 개인 활동 들어가느 컴백은 자꾸 미뤄지고 해체설이나 돌지, 겨우 잡은 컴백곡은 저작권 문제로 엎어지지, 결정적으로 드림콘서트 사태까지 터져버려서... 그때는 소녀시대랑 소녀시대 팬들만 거의 동앗줄 붙잡듯이 버티고 있던 시기였고, 그만큼 2009년에 Gee로 대히트한 게 진짜 기적적인 거였음ㄷㄷ 그래서 소녀시대 컴백 언제 하냐

Just a reminder that SNSD’s sales of 464, 377 in Korea alone for their album The Boys (in 2011 alone) and their sales of 871,097 for their self titled Japanese debut album Girls’ Generation (also in 2011 alone), has not been surpassed yet by any girl group. @lleonnie I think SNSD is the greatest girl group ever assembled. But in case you haven't, i hope you check out APINK'S live concerts Pink Paradise, Pink Party, Pink Season, among others. They are excellent and are backed up by a great live band in all of them. The only thing lacking a little is the huge production of SNSD's concerts. But otherwise their songs, singing, looks, and dancing are all great.

swel len Ya, I hope that there are a few others out there that will be released. But then again, I'm sure they make some songs and then decide that they aren't good enough to go on the albums. I'm thankful for that. For example maybe that's why Talk Talk wasn't included on their Girls' Generation or Gee albums. I've heard that Michael Jackson was known to make up to 70 different songs in order to make one album that would only include 13.

For people doubting this was filmed in 2008 - just check Jessica's jaw. You can see that the video was shot before she had it shaved down, so this is really back from the Gee era. And please, let's not pretend like she looks the same now. I love my Ice Queen, but half of your face doesn't just happen to vanish one day.

According to sources: Dancing Queen was supposedly suppose to be GG's comeback instead of GeeGee, but because of copyright issues (because it is a remake of Mercy by Duffy), SM just settled for GeeGee as their comeback song back in 2009. I think that's why.
